Let’s play a game

So I had to cancel today’s D&D game as my throat still feels terrible.
So I felt pretty bad for part of today.
It also didn’t help that my body just feels so run down from being sick.
I’m also sick of all the games on my phone, but I never feel like I can play any of the good recent games I got because I plan on using them for YouTube or Twitch.
Then I had a brain wave.
I can’t play most of these games for either YouTube or Twitch.

The latest game I got was Fire Emblem Three Houses.
I was looking to play it on YouTube when I first got it, which I’ve mentioned in earlier posts.
I then had issues with the recording of it, so it kind of left a bad taste in my mouth.
I’ve been seeing lots of Tweets about being playing it.
Most people are saying they’re 100 hours in, at the start of their second play through…
Which made me realise… That’s a terrible game for YouTube!
Let’s say the first play through is 80 hours to do it at a normal pace… and each episode would be roughly 30 minutes… which is a long game play video for YouTube.
That means you’ve got at least 160 videos.
THAT’S A MASSIVE SERIES!
Let’s say it’s 1 video a day (way more than I was planning to do.)
That’s still almost 23 weeks of just this game!
That’s almost half a year of -just- that game!
That’s just not viable.
So that means I’m just not going to do it on YouTube, and by now playing it on Twitch wouldn’t be helpful either…
So I’m free to play it now! YAY!
So that’s what I started to do!

I’d only played 30 minutes in, so I didn’t have to start again.
I made some better choices this time too.
Then I finally got to choose which of the aforementioned Three Houses that I was going to teach.
I chose the Black Eagles, because I have a history with that name.
It all links back to my days playing Neverwinter Nights in High School.
On the Mystara server the player base was split into 2 factions.
The main “Good” side was called Threshold.
The “Bad” side were called the Black Eagles.
I had lots of encounters with the Black Eagles.
So… naturally I went with them.

I’m really looking forward to playing it and it’s actually made me feel better.
Like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
I spent a lot of money on this game and I don’t really have disposable income like I used to.
So now that I’m actually playing the game I don’t feel like I’ve wasted that money.
Plus, as I said, lots of Tweets about it, so now I don’t feel like I have to kind of skip lots of them.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a class to teach.
